Hand Rejuvenation Q & A

What is hand rejuvenation?

Hand rejuvenation is a treatment that limits the telltale signs of aging on your hands. As you grow older, your hands tend to develop:

  • Large, visible veins
  • Thin, papery skin
  • Loss of fat and moisture
  • Hyperpigmented spots

Your physician may recommend one or more therapies to reverse the signs of aging and rejuvenate the look of your hands.

How does treatment with Asclera rejuvenate my hands?

Asclera is a sclerotherapy treatment that removes large, visible veins to make your hands look more youthful. Dr. Nackman injects Asclera directly into oversized veins.

Asclera contains polidocanol, which irritates the unwanted vein so that it collapses and your circulation re-routes into healthier veins.

Over the next few weeks, the treated veins become less visible. Eventually, your body absorbs the unwanted veins, leaving your hands smooth and youthful again.

How does the Icon rejuvenate my hands?

The Icon’s Alexandrite laser uses the power of light energy to break up the pigment of age spots on the surface of your skin.

Dr. Nackman may recommend the use of the IPL light energy to destroy hyperpigmented lesions, such as age spots and sunspots.

The heat from the light breaks up the pigment so that it later flakes off. The heat from the intense pulses also stimulates collagen remodeling, to improve the quality of your skin.

How does Radiesse rejuvenate my hands?

Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler that stimulates collagen remodeling. As soon as Dr. Nackman injects FDA-approved Radiesse, you will notice less visible veins, tendons and more youthful-looking hands.

Over time, the absorbable microparticles in Radiesse also stimulate your skin to produce more collagen, which gives you long-lasting results of up to a year or more.
